Charles HUET de GUERVILLE est parti en Pologne à Dabrowa Gornicza. Il  nous transmet ses impressions dans la langue de Shakespeare !!!

“Hello there!

Here in Poland, all is going well, I am living in a dormitory with the others Erasmus students who’s come from Spain, Turkey and Estonia, and some full-year students from all around the world. I share my room with a Spanish guy. Katowice is not the prettiest city, but it is closest big city to my university, which is in Dabrowa Gornicza. There are many students in this university so it is a good way to improve my English. All my classes are in English and take place between Wednesdays and Fridays. The cost of living is pretty cheap because the change Is 1 euro for 4.25 zlotys.

This year we are lucky with the weather because it is very sunny and hot. Sometimes it is a little cloudy but I had only one rainy day. The weather will get colder and colder in the next weeks and for the winter I have to expect -20 degrees.

About the food, we can find a lot of fast-foods similar as french ones. Polish people are use to eat a lot of meet. As traditional dish we can find “pierogies” (kind of “raviolis” in France ) or “bigos” (“choucroute”) or zapiekanka (piece of bread with mushroom, meat  (salami, ham or bacon) and cheese )”.
